Digital Skills & Jobs Platform – the new home of digital skills in Europe

Digital Skills & Jobs Platform – the new home of digital skills in Europe

To help bridge the digital skills gap in Europe, the European Commission has launched the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform, the new home of high-quality information, initiatives and resources on digital skills from across Europe. DIGITAL SME is proud to be part of the consortium that has developed the platform and is committed to continuously contribute to skills development in SMEs.

The Platform will become a unique reference point for digital skills enabling all Europeans – citizens, businesses and public organisations – to make the most of the digital transformation of our society and economy. The Platform will function jointly with the 25 National Coalitions for digital skills and contribute to reaching the EU’s Digital Decade targets.

Funded by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform will help individuals and SMEs find relevant training and learning opportunities and it will improve knowledge-sharing between organisations and companies. It can help all users stay up to date with the latest Digital Skills initiatives, projects, funding, and good practices; at both EU and national level.

The Platform brings together a diverse group of digital skills stakeholders from every country in Europe, all in one place for the first time – the Digital Skills & Jobs Community. Community members can access funding opportunities, find project partners, share content and resources, and network with peers and experts.

The Platform offers a wide range of content and community features including:

Especially now that digital competencies are needed more than ever, the platform will play an essential role in making re- and upskilling more accessible. When it comes to improving digital skills, SMEs often lack the necessary resources, time, and knowledge – these shortages limit their innovation capacity and productivity. DIGITAL SME is strongly committed to supporting SMEs’ skills development as this is the key to keep Europe resilient and competitive. Through its contribution to the new platform and other activities, such as the engagement in the Pact for Skills, Working Group on Skills, and projects like Digital SkillUp and CHAISE, DIGITAL SME continues to address the fundamental need to build a strong skills ecosystem in Europe and embraces the necessity to achieve the Digital Decade targets.

Being at the centre of providing digital skills for SMEs, DIGITAL SME encourages its community to engage within the new platform – to share their good practices, resources, information about training, events, and other content on digital competencies, and to participate in forum discussions. Join DIGITAL SME’s Working Group on Skills to work together with other association members to strengthen SMEs’ position on skills.

DIGITAL SME is delighted to be part of the consortium that has developed the new European Commission-funded platform. The team is led by European Schoolnet and includes TremendDIGITALEUROPELIKTA, DIGITAL SME, Public Libraries 2030 and empirica.

The launch of the Platform is just the beginning of the progressive development of the content and features of the website and the ongoing growth of its community over the coming years. Together with our consortium partners we are proud to be part of this exciting project and contributing to Europe’s digital transformation!
