Argentine court drops charges against governor

Argentina’s vice-president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, central bank governor Miguel Ángel Pesce and his predecessor, Alejandro Vanoli, were acquitted of fraud on April 13.

The nation’s top appeals court dismissed the “dollar futures fraud” case against them. The case was based on the Central Bank of Argentina’s foreign exchange dealings in 2015. The court also dismissed charges against nine other officials who served during Fernández de Kirchner’s time as president in 2007 to 2015.
