Andrew Bailey: chosen in December 2019 to succeed Mark Carney as governor of the BoE

Andrew Bailey has been accused of being unfit to lead the Bank of England (BoE) by a high-profile UK activist, who has asked the chancellor to review his appointment.

“Mr Bailey is not a fit and proper person to be the next governor of the Bank of England,” said Gina Miller, founder of the True & Fair Campaign.

Bailey was chosen in December 2019 to succeed Mark Carney as governor.
