Irena Radović has been appointed governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro in a 58–13 parliamentary vote, making her the first woman to hold the role.
The appointment of Radović, a former central bank official and diplomat, follows a failed attempt by the country’s former president to keep the previous governor in post. It is part of a series of wider changes in key policy-making roles following an election earlier this year.
