General manager attributes strong result to successful banking department transformation

The Bank for International Settlements enjoyed an “exceptionally strong year” for its banking services, as it reported record income in the final 12 months of Agustín Carstens’s term as general manager.

The BIS annual report, published today (June 29), shows the bank made a profit of SDR843.7 million ($1.2 billion) in the 2024–25 fiscal year. Total comprehensive income “reached a record high” of SDR3.4 billion. Currency deposits and green bond assets under management also hit new highs.
