Dan Katz is expected to take over as first deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from October 6. His appointment was unveiled by IMF managing director Kristalina Georgieva on September 18 although the IMF’s executive board will still need to approve the nomination after a two-week comment period. If confirmed, Katz will be the most senior official from the US at the fund.
