Most communications teams become involved in key policy decisions after conclusions are made, but larger teams more often participate during policy meetings, the Communications Benchmarks 2025 find.
Overall, only 28.2% of communications teams take part in the early planning stages of key policy decisions. The figure is slightly higher than the result published in the 2024 benchmark. This year, the share of those involved in the function “after policy decisions are taken” is 41%.
