Ecuadorian central bank’s general manager resigns

Guillermo Avellán has resigned as general manager of the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE), a year and a half before his term had been due to expire.

Avellán announced his departure, effective immediately, on social media on December 2. The central bank released a statement several hours later, saying it had accepted his resignation request, which it said he had submitted on November 27.
