Central banks’ communications departments consider dis/misinformation on social media their top risk for the year ahead, the Communications Benchmarks 2025 show.
Central bank communicators scored risks on a scale of one to five, with one standing for “very low risk” and five for “very high risk”.
Dis/misinformation on social media attracted the highest average score of 3.8. It comes some points ahead of criticism from politicians outside government, which averages 3.4.
