Finance minister says bank’s easing and asset purchases caused ‘decades-high inflation’
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) has said it welcomes an independent review into its monetary policy during the pandemic.
RBNZ governor Anna Breman said in a statement on February 11 that the review would help the bank to better achieve its mandate. “I am proud to lead an institution that is open to learning from its past actions and I look forward to the insights that this review can offer,” she said.
Her comments came after finance minister Nicola Willis announced the review earlier that
