New Zealand central bank’s first female governor recruited from Sweden following Orr debacle

Anna Breman
New Zealand’s central bank has appointed a deputy governor of Sveriges Riksbank as its new head, after a tumultuous year in which its former governor stepped down suddenly and its board chair was effectively removed for the way the matter had been handled.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) said Anna Breman would begin a five-year term as governor on December 1. She will replace Christian Hawkesby, who has carried out the role in a caretaker capacity since Adrian Orr’s resignation in March
