Central banks universally communicate internally via email

Email is central banks’ most widely-used method of communicating within their organisation, data from the Communications Benchmarks 2025 shows.

All 40 respondents to the question say their central banks utilise email for internal communications. Email was also the leading messaging mechanism from the sample analysed in the 2024 benchmarks. This year, intranet is part of the toolkit in 35 jurisdictions (87.5%), all but five respondents. “Other” (15%) communications methods are the least used
