Acting head given full tenure more than a year after parliament rejected president’s initial choice

Slovenia’s parliament has confirmed the appointment of Primož Dolenc to a six-year term as governor of the country’s central bank.
In a statement by the Bank of Slovenia announcing his confirmation on February 3, the incoming governor said he was “committed to realising the vision of continuing to adapt the financial system to the needs of the people, and to strengthen its stability, resilience and accessibility”.
Dolenc has been a deputy governor since 2016. He first served as an acting
