Kosovo’s parliament votes for new governor

The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo

Kosovo’s parliament voted to nominate a new central bank governor on July 14, after four months in which the job was held by an acting candidate.

Ahmet Ismaili, a former director-general of the state treasury, will now become governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo if president Vjosa Osmani gives her approval. The governor serves a five-year term, which can be renewed once if parliament agrees to renominate them.
